Late-Night Doughnut Sales Fund Scholarships for Women

Have you ever driven three hours to pick up doughnuts at 10 o’clock at night, only to turn around and sell them the very next morning? That’s exactly what Shanann Belshe did on behalf of Beauty For Ashes, a women’s ministry known for going the extra mile, literally. Her late-night trek was worth it, as the group successfully sold 200 dozen doughnuts to raise money for scholarships for their upcoming women’s event in March 2026.

“The money goes to support women who might not otherwise get to attend, Belshe stated.

Beauty For Ashes has always had a heart for making sure no one is left out, and their reach is wide. Unlike many ministries that stay within their town limits, Beauty For Ashes crosses county lines. Of the 200 dozen sold, 40 dozen went straight to St. Francis, a reminder that faith and the Christian communities don’t stop at borders.

Fundraisers like this one may seem small, but they add up. Statistics show that grassroots fundraising efforts contribute billions annually to nonprofit work in the United States, with food sales often ranking among the most effective. For Beauty For Ashes, it’s about more than doughnuts, it’s about women finding hope, encouragement, and most importantly Jesus.

As March 2026 draws closer, the scholarships raised through something as simple as a glazed doughnut will open the door for women to gather, worship, and grow together. The sweetest part of what they do isn’t the pastries, rather the lives that are forever changed by Christ at these events.
