Loving and Supporting a Hardworking Husband: A Touching Gesture

He traveled overnight for a job interview— and in the moment, I knew I needed to appreciate his effort. He was a wonderful man— and deserved to know his value, especially when a world was screaming something else. Work is so important to a man— that as a wife, it’s our responsibility to love and respect them through those unknown seasons.

For us to be Jesus with skin on to our loved ones.

So how did I show Jesus’ love today? I wrote him a poem, and ran to the store to grab a silly box of peanut butter cereal to watch with a movie date tonight at home.

It might not seem like much to us.
But to them, it’s a way to show we care.

So here’s to all the wives surprising their husbands with a box of favorite cereal this week.

You’ll be glad you did— and even more, they’ll know you are still proud of them.

A poem for the man I love…

My husband works so hard
I am so very proud.

My husband works so hard,
It makes my knees shake to the ground.

My husband works so hard,
That his love for me is true.

My husband works so hard,
With such provision none could outdo.

My husband works so hard,
But the bosses didn’t see.

My husband works so hard,
Without anymore holding a salary.

My husband works so hard,
I pray they see his skills.

My husband works so hard,
His nose grinding those stone hills.

My husband works so hard,
another interview another day.

My husband works so hard,
He comes home somber when it didn’t turn out that way.

My husband works so hard,
I know his identity.

My husband works so hard,
The LORD shows how much he has loved me.

My husband works so hard,
And another job will come along.

My husband works so hard,
Soon again he will sing his happy working song.

My husband works so hard,
That in the time we wait.

My husband works so hard,
I still will remind him he is great.

My husband works so hard,
He deserves to know I’m smitten.

My husband works so hard,
I went to the grocery store skippin’

My husband works so hard,
That I’ll surprise him anyway.

My husband works so hard,
I went silly & splurged on his favorite cereal today.

My husband works so hard,
Tonight we will snuggle, rest, and pray.

My husband works so hard,
The LORD will show my family tomorrow is still a bright day.
