I want to feel beautiful everyday…
As we wind down the year, I’m working on implementing even more simple and streamlined practices in my every day life!
I know our beautiful heart is supposed to be the main focus—-but there’s also something simply wonderful with feeling pretty and enjoying your current size, shape, and season today! I’m not naturally good with style—but I wanted everything in my closet to be an option.
I wanted to feel cute in every single outfit I owned.
Who said I couldn’t feel cute in all my clothes? Why did it have to stay a pipe dream?

Step 1: Decluttering my clothes…
I updated my closet inventory guidelines to five home shirts, five dressier blouses, and one dress for myself…
3 pairs of leggings and one pair of jeans…
Few pairs of shoes…
Few pairs of earrings…
Down to one purse…
Everything else went either to the trash, donation bin, or off season. Everything had to become an option. If it didn’t fit, we broke up. Permanently.
You can do this!
Step 2: Decide where the gaps for the current or upcoming season need to be filled based on your initial inventory after Step 1.
Simply think of it like preparing a grocery list.

(Examples)
My winter boots that I’ve had the last several years are falling apart…I’d need a new pair to finish out this season and still enjoy next year!
My leggings have holes—probably should replace them. Overalls didn’t work with nursing. Definitely getting some new leggings.
I still don’t need any jeans, found my favorite pair this summer.
I haven’t lost the baby weight…so sizes would be different. I wasn’t going to get down on myself, I was going to enjoy the beautiful body I had today.
Look at what you need to fill the gaps for five outfits this season and write them down.
I was going to dress myself cute every day. Just for me.
Third Step: Determine what I simply needed help with…

I needed help getting clothes to me.
I needed help with time management. Being a mom of kids ages 9, 5, 3, and 1 doesn’t leave much time for shopping by myself.
I needed someone to help me know what colors looked good on me and someone to style them for me.
I needed something time efficient…I lived in the middle of nowhere, and it was three hours to the closest city.
AND…I needed all of this on a reasonable budget.
What do you need help with most this season?

I was able to meet all of these! And here’s how I did it…
Color Consultation
Approximate Cost: $400
My Cost: FREE
It wasn’t in my budget to have a color consultation this year. I ended up watching a YouTube video of an example color consultation—-and found my colors within a Google search to coordinate. Saved a list of the FREE colors in my phone, so I didn’t even need to buy the swatch!
Watch the same video I grabbed below!
Personal Stylist
Approximate Cost: $250/ 4 Hours
My Cost: $20
Gas Money
Approximate Cost: $80
My Cost: FREE
Time Spent
Approximate Time: 12 Hours
My Time: 20 minutes (Including making a fill in the gap list)
After finding my colors, I went to Stitch Fix (which I’ve used for over eight years now!) and requested five items that met my list, things I liked, and size—let them know my colors, previewed their stylist picks, and simply waited for them to arrive.
The $20 styling fee I paid could be used towards any of the clothes I wanted to keep and purchase. If I kept all 5 items, they’d also give me a 25% discount! If I didn’t want anything, I’d just ship it back in the included return envelope.
So there’s my own personal secret to styling and shopping on a reasonable budget…
I saved a whopping $730.00 by doing it this way.
It allowed me to have more money to spend on other things…like the actual clothes!
Here’s my tally for this winter below ⬇️
Cardigan: $44
Blouse: $44
Sweater: $46
Sweater: $68
Boots: $79
Saved 25% on all 5 and apply the $20 Styling Credit Applied = Approximate Total Cost: $190.00
That’s way cheaper than the $730.00 I would have spent on top of buying the clothes…
It really doesn’t have to be complicated to simply have a little help becoming styled, updating with a few pieces you love in your wardrobe this current season, and save too…
Take a deep breath and know you got this simplified clothing and closet thing figured out!
Best part? This method works all year long! You can use it anytime you’d like too.
