I know it’s a heavy topic for a Monday; but your motive really does matter.
I woke up early this morning with a heavy heart—and one called to pray: Pray for those boys, girls, men, and women in human trafficking.
Pray for them today.
Pray for their freedom.
Pray for their healing of hurts.
Pray that Jesus will comfort them, until the hands and feet of Christ cross paths to love them.
Consider forgoing an elaborate Christmas— and praying how you can support a rescue agency for trafficking victims.
Consider your abundant provision.
Consider your blessings.
Consider the excess we forget is excess.
It’s not to condemn or make you feel guilty for what you have; but take the heart motion and all your motives—- and give it all to Jesus. Simply take a minute today and ask Him…
What do you want from me today?
One of the best lines about generosity and sharing I learned was from watching Veggie Tales with my kids…
“Sharing is caring…if you have enough to spare, you have enough to share.”
Our finances are tighter than they’ve been in years. I’m not asking for you to necessarily give financially— maybe it’s just prayer today. Maybe it’s time. Maybe, it’s simply your voice.
But you can share your heart with the LORD— and always, always pray for those He brings to your mind.
It’s never a coincidence.
We are called to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.
The best way I was ever told to know how to know your calling for His Kingdom…
Whatever breaks your heart and makes you cry… that’s where you are called to serve.
The LORD has put on my heart for years the protection and care for children in every situation. He’s also put on me women who have been in similar life spots I have lived through…
Your heart might not break as deeply in this as mine— but it will break as deeply in something. but I ask for You to pray the boldest prayer to start your week:
LORD, show me what breaks your heart. Show me where you want me to serve in my prayer life, in my financial life, in my time…
We might be surprised to know He just wants us to serve our families more by being present with them…
We might be surprised to know what breaks our hearts the most— and it isn’t remotely the same as our best girlfriend.
He has placed in you a fire of passion to pray for things that break His heart. The LORD has asked you to join Him— He has invited you to participate in bringing His love to a broken world.
Christ’s birth is the reason for the Christmas season…
But what does He want you to pray for or act upon to show His love to those who need it so desperately now?
How will we respond to His gift of unfailing love?
Where is He pulling your heart to pray and act today?
“Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.”
Proverbs 14:31
“The Lord watches over strangers; He supports the fatherless and the widow, but He thwarts the way of the wicked.”
Psalm 146:9 NASB
“Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.”
Proverbs 31:8-9
“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is do, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to your neighbor, ‘Go, and come again, tomorrow I will give it’ – when you have it with you.”
Proverbs 3:27-28
“Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.”
Proverbs 11:25
“Whoever despises his neighbor is a sinner, but blessed is he who is generous to the poor.”
Proverbs 14:21
Have a motivated Monday!
