Hello, Conviction

I’ve read a lot of books in my time—but how many have I underlined on the very first page? Not many.

My husband was shocked—and the gut punching conviction from Chapter 1 that stood out?

‘Getting away with things that we know aren’t good for us isn’t working for us either.’

Jesus Over Every Thing, Lisa Whittle pg. 10

I felt convicted on how much time I spent on social media…

I felt convicted of the distractions that took away from my focus on my purpose at the radio—and placed it wrongly on the offended, hurtful comments from women who didn’t even know me.

I called and apologized that same day.

I felt convicted on my own spending habits, not allowing my body to heal from allergies—- even though I knew not to eat the foods.

I felt convicted of putting a screen above being a mom.

One chapter was all it took—would I choose again to place the flint of this book with the hot burning Holy Spirit and allow the LORD to use my life for His glory?

Yea.

He had proved time and time again He was worthy to trust.

Besides focusing on the things I needed to change—or be reinvigorated to continue the marathon of sanctification—- I had positives to focus on as well..

My husband looked at me like I was the sexiest person in the world for reading a book that would be used as a tool to build a stronger relationship with Jesus.

I was alert to the abundance of blessings—the choice of living in stress or peace. I was made aware of so many things to be thankful for that were simply wonderful positives.

Psalms 139:17-18 The Passion Translation O God, your desires toward me are more than the grains of sand on every shore! When I awake each morning, you’re still with me.

If we allow ourselves to be challenged— if we allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives, Jesus will change everything.

Even through a book filled with His Word.

Always,

Rach
