I was convicted on how I was spending my time…
It wasn’t a burden to spend time with my family, implement correct boundaries with my schedule, work, or even Thanksgiving plans.
It was a blessing.
Even Thanksgiving Day.
In fact, it wasn’t even wrong for me to say no sometimes.
No to myself.
No to others.
No to overcommitment.
No to stress.
No to unreasonable expectations.
No to certain conversations at the dinner table.
Even Thanksgiving Day.
I could try and balance a perfect schedule…
I could overthink what to say or what to do…
I could stress about family supper tomorrow…
I could worry about what others were thinking…
I could stew on the family drama and become irritated or harsh…
I could be anxious about when to say something or hold my tongue…
I had the final choice to surrender all my time to Jesus.
Even Thanksgiving Day.
If I took the Bible for the whole Bible, it clearly shared the LORD would always help me with picking what was best for the time He gave me.
He removed the grey areas and made them black & white.
Even Thanksgiving Day.
He would set me up to enjoy blessings while still obeying Him—and having the active, practical faith of handing over all the minute and mega details to the LORD of the Universe.
I didn’t have to be stressed out or worried when I knew I was following the Ultimate Game plan…
Even Thanksgiving Day.
The Giver of Time always gave me direction.
His way and time was always the best.
Something I’m very thankful for in this season.
Even Thanksgiving Day.
I will love deeply.
I will forgive always.
I will embrace more.
I will give cheerfully.
I will be Jesus’ hands and feet.
I will rest that He has good plans for me in all seasons.
Even Thanksgiving Day.
Psalm 32:8 (New International Version)
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
Philippians 4:6 (New International Version)
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Ephesians 5:15-16 (New Living Translation)
So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.
