I heard a wise man say I could be more than just generous with my finances. I could be generous with my words, my time, and my service.
Need a motivational nudge this lovely Monday? Consider a new way to be generous today.
Could I warm my husband’s towel before he gets out of the shower?
Could I hug my kids an extra five seconds— and maybe have their favorite snack set out when they come home from school?
Could I text that one person who keeps coming to my mind? Or pray a sweet blessing behind their back?
Could I smile as I drive through the carpool line?
Could I sing worship as I prepare my home for the people filling it later this week? Even while scrubbing the toilets or wiping baseboards?
Could I run a batch of cookies to the neighbor’s house?
Could I drop by or call to invite someone to dinner this week who has no plans?
Today, I’m praying we simply find small ways to give generously today. We may not think a small thing is a big deal— but to those receiving it…
It could just be everything.
Remember, your generosity in time, in service, in compliments… not just finances could just be an answer to their own silent prayers.
Galatians 5:25 (ESV)
If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Proverbs 17:22 (NIV)
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
