This is a great question! I’ve been asked and referred to several authors who want to publish for the first time….
Here’s a wonderful article to encourage you to the simple, yet complex ways of sharing your written story.
Enjoy!

I have worked, worked, and let’s throw in a little more work to create…a well done third book and proposal. If you need help, shoot us an email.
One of the TOP literary agents in the nation told me my proposal was well done.
(And no, it was not a copy/ paste email)
Still rejected.
Why was it rejected?
The top reason: my book is commercially short. Like 90 pages short (25,000 words).
Am I upset?
No, because it was intentional.
Why did I make it short?
Have you looked at the market of readers, podcasts, digital media, and the generations of upcoming readers? Have we looked at digital content attention spans? Spending habits? Which age and demographics pick up books? What about all the other economics? Of course you have…and that is why the answers are less than complicated. But there is definitely still risk for a publishing house!
Side Note: Can I place a bet? Short books will make a huge comeback. But what do I know… I’m just a single lifelong reader, writer, and entertainer in a media field.
Why do I care about readers more than publishers?
I know I’m a good writer. I do not need affirmation from a publisher— I just have to sell myself to publishers. It’s a corporate playing field; and you can’t be invisible to their requirements to make money for the company. There’s nothing wrong with it, and it’s almost never personal.
However, the broader picture— the eternal lenses happen to be more important in my case: I am called to deliver Truth to the reader. That ends up being very personal.
Don’t you think?
When you speak life into someone’s hard place, it changes generations. I choose to spend my time on what matters most.
If my third book gets picked up this time, it is great. Absolutely wonderful! But if it does not…
1. I’ve got a studio rented for video, media, and promos
2. A video editor hired
3. A book editor
4. The radio chair, listening audience, and the newspaper
5. National, award winning artist hired for the cover
6. EIN
7. Established website and a goal.
They will know the Truth and the Truth will set them free.
The fun fact of the day: The truth is coming to the reader, whether a publisher picks it up or not.
Now, I still have a few months of a waiting window. I’ll be patient. I know how it works; but I’m not sitting on the sidelines wasting time. I have my own deadline. Authors, do your own homework.
Do I want them to buy the book or do I want them to read the book? Both.
But getting the Truth in them is my highest priority. How it happens… that’s on Jesus.
I’m ready to go either way!
Thank you all for praying this last month.
