A Paper Chaser

As I prayed I was confronted with the fact: people wasted their lives chasing paper. I’ve done it before, so I’m not slamming anyone else. But what was so wrong about being a paper chaser?

Do you remember the story as a kid of the princess and the pauper?

What we realize in that story is they are both the same on the inside. They both have kind hearts, the only difference is their worldly title. That worldly title was only their physical position place to do good work.

The LORD still has the ability to bless both of them.

As we look in Scripture, He blessed Queen Esther and He blessed John the Baptist. Two completely different lives, but still both abundantly blessed by the LORD.

When we realize our worldly position is just a ministry spot, not a value spot, it changes everything.

Do not be deceived by the idea that an expensive object changes your identity. It doesn’t. A rich person can be humbled by how little they have in this life before the next— a poor person can be thankful that their eternal life will be fuller. Abundant life for each of them is available in this life because Jesus is in control.

Don’t play the games of the world and be a paper chaser. Ask the LORD to fulfill the calling He placed on you alone to share of His radically changing love. He placed you in exactly the spot for today to help all the paupers or princesses in this broken world. Your value is so high that the cost was the blood of His Son.
