Stress is a signal.
Stress is just a simple signal that we are stopped in our tracks with believing a lie of control. The falsehood that we can control something, someone, or any big or small life event outside of ourselves. We are believing it falls on our shoulders; and forgetting the impactful details God asks and invites us only to participate in His plan. We are the clay, He is the Potter.
The only thing in this life we ourselves can control is our response. That’s why the load in Scripture is written to be light. Everything else is on Jesus. Even in our own circle of responsibility with responses, He has given us the Holy Spirit, our Helper, to succeed in making positive impacts over negative flesh driven tendencies.
It’s easier said than done, but the next time you feel stress about anything— whether that’s the pile of laundry or your current work responsibilities take a moment and step back.
Ask The LORD to show you what lie you are believing and taking onto your own shoulders. He will always show you. The next step is the most important: After you see it, give it to Him and keep walking forward in His truth.
Jesus didn’t just die for your sins, He died for your stress too. He wants you to thrive and not just survive.
That’s how much The LORD loves you.
