{Our Elderberry Guide}

#ad We love having elderberry syrup on hand all year long! With Fall officially here, it means our immune systems are soon going to start being exposed to those cold and flu bugs.

I’m so excited to share the recipe with you on my favorite organic elderberry kit! You can start elderberry at 6 months for babies— and the health benefits of adding this supplement into your life every few days.

With a quick google and search we find that Elderberries contain:

  • Vitamin C
  • Antioxidants
  • Heart Health Qualities
  • Boosts Your Immune System
  • Good for Respiratory System
  • Managing Blood Sugar Levels

With benefits like that and the changing seasons, it just seemed the right time to share our favorite elderberry easy recipe with you! Here is a book as a great resource packed with all things elderberry!

Before I started making homemade elderberry syrup, the gummy vitamin trend was my cheat sheet! Although some might disagree with me, my stance is that getting any form of elderberry supplement into a family’s diet is greater than not having it all. If gummies are your current season, here’s the brand we personally used. (Redlin Children approved!)

Here are a few other amazing elderberry products you can bring into your home this Fall!

Liquid Drops

Dried Elderberries

Rachel’s Homemade Elderberry Syrup:

1/2 cup of dried elderberries

1/2 teaspoon of clove

1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon of ginger

1/2 teaspoon of allspice

4 cups of filtered water

Optional: 1/4 cup of Maple Syrup or honey for sweetness! If making for babies (6-12 months) do not use honey.

Mix together and bring to a boil— then turn to low, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes.

Strain out berries.

Pour into vessels and then keep in the fridge. Use it within 6 weeks of making! Dosing recommendations on personal discretion and research. We do a 1/2 teaspoon twice a week for our kids— and a tablespoon for mom and dad.

I still don’t have a green thumb to grow my own, so I get my subscription organic elderberry kit from Purely Parsons. I found this company through a crunchy mom I know and trust. With small business family values, the ease of subscription (optional), and organic ingredients being a priority—it was the right fit for us. Best part: I can control the ordering process— and freeze unused kits if I don’t use as many in the summer. Genius and budget friendly.

If you’d be so kind as to send an email to them after you try it out and let them know we sent you the right direction, we’d sure appreciate it! We are not currently an affiliate— this is an honest recommendation and a real product the Redlin Family uses regularly.
